Choosing the right Troy-Bilt tiller

How to choose a model from all the Troy-Bilt tillers? It depends most importantly on the size and soil of your garden. For a small one (up to 1000 square feet) with soft soil you can use Troy Bilt’s Cultivator line which are pretty much just mini tillers really. Bigger garden obviously requires more powerful tillers.

Next comes the power source. Gas or electric?

Gas tillers are the winner when it comes to horsepower and raw performance. However, they are loud and noisy (85 decibels and higher). Be careful here as some places, like California, forbid noisy tillers as part of their regulations. Gas tillers also require more maintenance than their electric counterparts.

If you are not into fueling or pull starting then electric tillers are for you. They work fine on light-duty tasks and most have a swath of around 10 inches wide.
